Scorpion Conch (Lambis scorpio)
True to its name, the scorpion conch can look just like a scorpion with a curved tail, but it doesn’t sting, we promise!  The aperture has a pale pink or caramel color with very fine brown stripes.  This one’s a reef snail from the shallow waters in the Indian Ocean and Western Pacific.

Common Spider Conch (Lambis lambis)
This species of spider conch is an herbivore, and is often found in mangrove swamps in the Indo-Pacific.  Its striking shell comes in a variety of shades of browns and beiges, sometimes with very distinct patterns.  Specimens with longer “fingers” are more likely to be female.
